Bruce has been a cast member/musician in many productions of Ted Swindley's "Always . . . Patsy Cline" and "Honky Tonk Angels". He has also served as musical director of the Patsy Cline show at Mars Hill's SART, Burnsville's Parkway Playhouse and Asheville Community Theater. He made his acting debut in 2001 as part of Southern Appalachian Repertory Theater’s production of "Lost Highway: The Music and Legend of Hank Williams". He played the role of Hank's bass player and close friend "Hoss", as well as musical director for the show.
SART's 2002, 2003 & 2004 productions of "Radio Gals" featured an ensemble cast, with Bruce playing the part of the singing, bass and tuba playing "spinster" Miss Azilee Swindle. The show received a rave review!
